OUR MISSION
Partners for World Health at NC State (PWH NC State) works to provide college and graduate students the opportunity to support PWH Main's mission to facilitate the collection and distribution of high-quality medical supplies and equipment for the benefit of individuals and communities in need, both locally and internationally, within their communities.
Our work limits the impact on the environment by diverting materials from landfills; lowers healthcare costs by lowering disposal fees; and provides healthcare resources to those in need. PWH aims to improve health conditions by sending medical personnel on medical missions to the developing world and educating our communities about global health issues.
A PWH Chapter Member reflects a commitment to service and volunteerism. As such, members will also have the opportunity to engage in humanitarian, medical, and poverty-aid volunteering projects such as food drives, vaccine education, and roll-out programs, assistance for homeless shelters and refugee centers, etc.
At PWH NC State, We:
- Engage with local hospitals to collect high-quality medical supplies and equipment.
- Assist in the logistics of packing and distributing medical supplies to impoverished communities, locally and internationally.
- Develop, lead, and/or partake in humanitarian, medical, service, and educational projects for local communities.
- Obtain a chance to go on medical missions to South Sudan, Uganda, and Bangladesh through volunteer hour tracking.
- Attend educational seminars and conferences on environmentalism and humanitarian crises.
- Earn volunteer hours.
